The Cham Jacket is amazing! It changed the way that I layer when touring…or to say it better, I don’t have to change layers when touring! Most of the time I can leave the shell on when skinning up and skiing down. The fabric breathes so well that I can wear a light sun hoodie under the shell on the up and only need to put on a puffy over everything when at a long transition or on a really chilly ski. The huge front pockets fit full size skins without feeling cramped or bulky. I also use these pockets to keep a soft water bottle warm in the nice little mesh pocket. This means that you are spending less time futzing with layers or taking your pack on and off at transitions to stow your skins, get at your water etc. I have used two versions of this jacket for work for the past 5 seasons and each has held up well to over 200 days of use.
I love this jacket! I use it for quick lunch skins to 40-mile skimo expeditions. The front pockets are great for quick transitions - throw your skins in and start skiing. The lightweight fabric and stretch make this jacket the most comfortable in my quiver. I feel pretty stylish in it too!
Thanks for the review, Maggie! We think you look pretty stylish, too :)
This is the ultimate kit for a long day in the mountains. Lightweight and super breathable. The stretch is amazing. If you are into clobbering some sick pow... the Cham is the jam.
Thanks for your review, Eric! We agree, "Cham is the JAM"!
I wanted a well designed jacket for both touring and skiing the hill and this is it. I love that it has what you need and nothing you do not. The pockets hold whatever you want, skins, gloves, snacks. I rarely wear a jacket while climbing but I did in this jacket and it actually breathes while still working to keep the wind out. The hood fits over my helmet and the deep collar is prefect if you forget to pull up your face-mask or if it is blustery. It really is cut to fit a wide range of shapes, so while I'm sure all the gents who reviewed this jacket this look super fine in it, it fits this chick very well too!
Thanks for the review, Susan!
I am really impressed by the Cham jacket. It's got unbeatable features and great styling. I'm particularly impressed by the 3-layer Recon stretch fabric, chamois fleece and Aquagurd zippers for insulation against moisture. It's well worth the price for passionate skiers who want the best gear. I like is so much, I included the Cham in our round-up of Best Men's Ski Jackets, https://renoun.com/blogs/blog/best-ski-jackets-for-men Thanks for the great work you do at Strafe!
