I love this jacket! The attention to detail is second to none. I have had other jackets that wear out and the folks at Strafe must actually test their gear because those problems don't exist. The Nomad looks good and feels good.
I had to take a year off after an injury. I downsized my clothes a bit and the med fits perfectly. It's kind of a medium/long which fits me excellently. (6' tall and lanky) The fabric is new and better. The pockets are the best in the industry. The eVent fabric seems light yet holds up to abuse. Very functional which is most important to me.
Jacket thickness is perfect for spring skiing. Some jackets are just too thin. The layout for the multiple pockets is the best of any ski jacket I have owned. A place for the ski pass on the sleeve. Small inner pocket for cash and credit cards. Large front pockets with zippers that work in both directions to keep items from falling out when you are on the chairlift. Large right inside open pocket to put ski straps. Ventilation zippers for the warm days.
The shell is well constructed and has held up well for me this season. The design is solid and the pockets are big and easy to access. Where this shell really loses points is on the collar. It is not stiff enough to stand up without the hood up and provides minimal protection for the neck compared to jackets of similar price point. The collar collapses on itself and I find myself adjusting more often than any other jacket I’ve owned.
