I agree with the other lady shredders here. These are warm, comfortable and great under hardshell pants/bibs.. (I have not had the wait band stretch out yet.) But it is mind boggling that the zipper only opens from the bottom up. Utterly impractical for going to bathroom. I usually wear a size 8 in pants and the Medium is snug. Great once I have it on and I don't think it will fall down even if the waist band eventually stretches out. But getting them over my hips is a workout. I am worried I may rip the zipper. Please redesign these! I would buy another pair once the design issues are fixed.
I was excited about these but after wearing them for 6 days the waist band has stretched out and they slip down when I’m walking or skiing. They are warm but completely useless now since they don’t stay up when wearing them. Super bummed.
I purchased a model of these pants in the spring of 2023. I have used them 10 times. I LOVE the idea and they are warm. However, the waist band is a BIG problem. After a few uses, the waist band no longer stayed snug. There is no way to tighten up the waist bank or elastic that is strong enough to keep the waist bank fitted. When I used the pants, yesterday to alpine ski in (under my gortex pants), the pant due to its lack of a true fitted waist band, slipped down below my waist. It was super uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I have decided there is no way to amend this pant and make it fitted to my waist. Therefore, I have looked to another company that makes the same type of pant that has a fitted waist band that can be adjusted and Strafe figures out a way to keep the waist band fitted after a few uses.
These pants are great! They’re super functional. Beyond warming up and cooling down for skimo races, they work great for touring, inbounds skinning, and skiing. These pants work well when you need a layer to start off with on a chilly tour, but then want to shed a layer easily. The zips are easy to use and they fit well both under and over shell pants. I frequently use these pants when I meet my kiddos after skinning the resort. I can pull these out of my pack, put them over my Recon pants, and I’m ready to ride chairlifts. I’m on the shorter side, so these hit right above my boots, which works perfectly!
Why make a women’s pant that only unzips from the bottom of the legs? These pants are too difficult to pull down for restroom stops. For the price, they should at least have have a double ended zipper.
Thanks so much for the review. We have received similar feedback from some of our athletes and are excited to share that the new 23/24 version will have 2-way zippers!
