Minimalist touring shell with ski pass arm pocket and pit zips???

*I have not used this jacket* but why would I buy a "Ultralight, minimalist design for ultimate touring shell performance. No powderskirt, wrist cuffs, or superfluous add-ons" that has a pocket for ski passes on the wrist?? Since when does Ultralight, minimalist and touring imply that I want a extra superfluous pocket that adds weight, has zero benefit for touring and is not minimal? Who designed this??? Pit zips? If it is as breathable as polartec neoshell, then why do I need pitzips? Another superfluous addition. Release a proper version. 2 chest pockets only (or truly minimal, one, and anorak) or get rid of all the nonsense about this being for touring and ultralight and minimal. It's none of those things. Just another resort jacket.

Hey Anton, thanks for your input! We understand your concerns, but think you'd be impressed by this jacket and this fabric if you got hands-on with the product. And not to spill the beans, but we have a streamlined anorak version coming soon.

    Never Take It Off

I wear this jacket every day ski touring. I never take it off. Ok, maybe after March. The material is so breathable, and with pit zips and front zipper, it has to be over 30ºF for me to ever remove it. While everybody else is stripping layers early and putting them back on on the ridges, I stay in my Cham. Other favorite part is the chest pockets. Skins go right in there for the downhill, snacks for the up. Best ski touring jacket I've ever had. Utah skier.

    BIG cham guy

Had the complete Cham set-up this season and absolutely loved it. Spent this season backcountry skiing the Wasatch which ranges anywhere from freezing blizzarding days to 60 degree bluebird. Regardless of temperature I could usually rock just the jacket and a short sleeve on the up, wind resistance is tremendous and pit zips allow for even more temperature control. I don't like to stop to change out layers a lot and with my previous kit (not strafe) I'd find myself stubbornly battling through sweat or freezing. The chest pockets are big enough to put skins in, even a gopro and a microphone. Can't beat the zany lime green either.

    All Time Favorite Jacket!

The Cham Jacket is amazing! It changed the way that I layer when touring…or to say it better, I don’t have to change layers when touring! Most of the time I can leave the shell on when skinning up and skiing down. The fabric breathes so well that I can wear a light sun hoodie under the shell on the up and only need to put on a puffy over everything when at a long transition or on a really chilly ski. The huge front pockets fit full size skins without feeling cramped or bulky. I also use these pockets to keep a soft water bottle warm in the nice little mesh pocket. This means that you are spending less time futzing with layers or taking your pack on and off at transitions to stow your skins, get at your water etc. I have used two versions of this jacket for work for the past 5 seasons and each has held up well to over 200 days of use.

    Cham Jacket - Yes!

I love this jacket! I use it for quick lunch skins to 40-mile skimo expeditions. The front pockets are great for quick transitions - throw your skins in and start skiing. The lightweight fabric and stretch make this jacket the most comfortable in my quiver. I feel pretty stylish in it too!
